    G5 SAHEL - 1er sommet sans le Mali / 1st summit without Mali

     

    Avant hier, à N'Djamena (Tchad), s'est tenu le 1er sommet du G5 Sahel sans la présence du Mali. Depuis le retrait de ce dernier en 2022, ne devrait on pas d'ailleurs dire le G4 Sahel ?
     
    Le président Traoré (Burkina Faso), également absent, s'est fait représenter par son ministre de la Défense ; cela laisse-t-il présager un retrait de ce pays également ?
     
    Les chefs d'Etat, du moins ceux qui restent fidèles à l'institution, ont cependant décidé de "relancer la machine" avec notamment la création d'un EM de coordination et la création de nouveaux bataillons pour renforcer la lutte contre les groupes terroristes.
     
    Reste à savoir si ces bataillons auront l'autorisation de pénétrer sur le territoire malien afin d'y poursuivre les groupes terroristes qui ne manqueront pas de s'y réfugier, ainsi que les organisateurs de l'immigration clandestine et des réseaux pour le transit de la drogue, des armes et des marchandises prohibées en tout genre.

    The day before yesterday, in N'Djamena (Chad), the 1st summit of the G5 Sahel was held without the presence of Mali. Since the withdrawal of the latter in 2022, should we not say the G4 Sahel? 

    President Traoré (Burkina Faso), also absent, was represented by his Minister of Defence; Does this portend a withdrawal from this country as well? 

    The heads of state, at least those who remain loyal to the institution, have however decided to "revive the machine" with the creation of a coordination EM and the creation of new battalions to strengthen the fight against terrorist groups.

    It remains to be seen whether these battalions will be allowed to enter Malian territory in order to pursue terrorist groups that will not fail to take refuge there, as well as the organizers of illegal immigration and networks for the transit of drugs, weapons and prohibited goods of all kinds.
